We bring your own kimono back to life as a made-to-order aloha shirt.

Its life as a kimono may be over — but why not give this remarkable piece, filled with generations of Japanese craftsmanship, a second life?

We accept made-to-order tailoring for a truly one-of-a-kind Kimono Aloha Shirt.

The work proceeds in this order: unstitching and washing (arai-hari), pattern matching, cutting, and tailoring. Please understand that if the fabric shows heavy staining or fading from age, we may not be able to meet your request.

Production takes approximately 2–3 weeks from the day your kimono reaches us. Payment is taken in advance through the shopping cart.

Please note: once the fabric has been cut, it can never be returned to a kimono. Pattern matching is also left to our judgement as a rule.

Shipping costs for sending your kimono to us are the customer’s responsibility.

We make one Kimono Aloha Shirt from one kimono (adult kimono; nagajuban under-robes and yukata excluded). Any leftover fabric is returned to you together with your finished shirt.

Delivery methods

The delivery method is chosen by us and cannot, as a rule, be selected by the customer. Within Japan we mainly use Yamato Transport; for overseas orders we use Japan Post EMS / UGX or FedEx.
Orders are dispatched within 5 days of purchase.
We do not, as a rule, accept requests for specific delivery dates or time slots.
If you do need a particular delivery method, date or time slot for any reason, please contact us before placing your order. We cannot accept such requests after an order has been placed. Thank you for your understanding.

Orders to the United States
Prices for the United States already include the customs duties and import-related charges payable on import.
You will not be asked to pay anything extra by the carrier on delivery.
You can simply accept your parcel with confidence.

Orders to other countries
Customs duties and import taxes are payable by the customer (DAP basis). The carrier (FedEx, Japan Post, etc.) may charge these on arrival, so please be aware of this in advance.
