We recognise the importance of protecting our customers’ personal information. We comply with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the “APPI”) and strive to handle and protect personal information appropriately in accordance with the privacy policy set out below (this “Privacy Policy”).

- 3. Changes to the purposes of use
- We may change the purposes for which personal information is used within a scope reasonably deemed relevant to the original purposes, and will notify customers or make a public announcement if we do so.
- 4. Restrictions on the use of personal information
- Except where permitted by the APPI or other laws and regulations, we will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use without the customer’s consent. This does not apply in the following cases:
- (1) Where required by law
- (2) Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property, and it is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent
- (3) Where specially necessary to improve public health or to promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent
- (4) Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government body, a local government, or a party commissioned by them, in performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the customer’s consent is likely to impede those duties
- 5. Proper acquisition of personal information
- We acquire personal information by proper means and do not acquire it through deception or other improper means.
- 6. Security management of personal information
- We exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over our employees so that personal information is managed securely against risks such as loss, destruction, alteration and leakage. Where we entrust all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party, we exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over that party so that the personal information is managed securely.

- Except where disclosure is permitted under the APPI or other laws and regulations, we will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the customer’s prior consent. The following are not treated as provision to a third party:

This does not apply where we are not obliged to make such disclosure under the APPI or other laws and regulations.
- 9. Correction of personal information
- Where a customer requests correction, addition or deletion of their personal information under the APPI on the grounds that it is not true (“correction”), we will, after confirming that the request comes from the customer themselves, carry out the necessary investigation without delay within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use, make the correction based on the results, and notify the customer accordingly (if we decide not to make a correction, we will notify the customer of that decision). This does not apply where we are not obliged to make such corrections under the APPI or other laws and regulations.
- 10. Suspension of use of personal information
- Where a customer requests, under the APPI, that the use of their personal information be suspended or that it be erased (“suspension of use”) on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the publicly announced purposes of use, or that it was acquired by deception or other improper means, and it becomes clear that the request has grounds, we will, after confirming that the request comes from the customer themselves, suspend the use of the personal information without delay and notify the customer accordingly. This does not apply where we are not obliged to suspend use under the APPI or other laws and regulations.
