About KIMONO-CYCLE

KIMONO-CYCLEについて - 着物アロハシャツ専門店|KIMONO-CYCLE

Our company is based on a "rental clothing and specialty store" that has been in business for over 50 years in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, a city known for its silk.

We provide rental "kimono" for once-in-a-lifetime commemorative occasions such as weddings, coming-of-age ceremonies, and Shichi-Go-San festivals.

Due to the nature of our business, we procure new "kimono" and "fabric bolts" from Kyoto and other kimono production areas nationwide every year. However, when new products arrive, older items inevitably receive less attention, and these are also products that are influenced by trends.

Until now, all items that no longer had rental demand were "disposed of as waste," but deep down, I always felt it was a "waste" and that they "could still be worn."

To preserve Japan's world-renowned "kimono culture," and with the desire to "give those kimono that may have served their purpose as kimono another chance in the spotlight," we launched the KIMONO-CYCLE business. We remake and recycle kimono, hakama, obi, and other items to manufacture and sell "kimono aloha shirts," "kimono hats/caps," and "kimono bags."

All products sold at KIMONO-CYCLE are one-of-a-kind items.

All fabrics used are pure silk (100% silk), but since they are not new, there may be some discoloration (fading) or scuffs.

We would be delighted if you could enjoy the "vintage feel" and "originality" that includes these characteristics.

We hope to disseminate new "value" to ensure that Japan's world-renowned "kimono culture" does not die out.
