Masako Kato's Commitment - Kimono Aloha Shirt Specialty Store|KIMONO-CYCLE

HELLO, MY NAME IS SEIKO KATO FROM KIMONO-CYCLE.

IT WOULD BE MY GREATEST PLEASURE IF EACH AND EVERY CUSTOMER WHO PURCHASES A "KIMONO ALOHA SHIRT" FROM OUR SHOP IS "SURPRISED" AND "IMPRESSED" BY THE PATTERN THAT FITS PERFECTLY WHEN THEY PUT IT ON AND BUTTON IT UP FOR THE FIRST TIME.

When it was worn as a kimono before, the pattern matched beautifully.

Kimonos are sewn in straight lines, painted to match the pattern, etc., but are not made for clothing.

Clothing (Western-style dressmaking) is basically cut in curved lines. This naturally makes it difficult to match the "pattern.
When I try to match them, the time spent on "pattern matching" is probably the longest part of the production time.

Even so, for me, the most enjoyable time is when I am thinking about it.

Imagining the faces of those who will wear the finished product, I also feel a sense of accomplishment when the patterns are matched well, and a sense of fulfillment as my job.

Matching patterns," "matching taste," "matching flow," there is no single way to match each kimono, but we try to make sure that something matches.

Although the same pattern repeats itself in a komon pattern, it is possible to make a kimono without worrying too much about pattern matching, but still, care must be taken in the direction and arrangement of the pattern.

The ebane pattern, which is often used for expensive kimonos, is not easy to make, because the pattern has a fixed point where the pattern fits together. The Eba pattern is like a single picture when the kimono is unfolded. Each piece is different, and no two kimonos are alike.

Products that have served us well as kimonos cannot be easily discarded.

If we can once again bring joy and smiles to someone's face, perhaps the kimonos will be happy. This time, we hope that people around the world, not just women, will take them in their hands.

To keep Japan's world-class traditional culture alive...

For me, too, a fun time of thinking begins as the kimonos that have served their purpose are reborn.

WE HOPE YOU WILL USE KIMONO-CYCLE PRODUCTS FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
